Alright, what an amazing time it was. I was too drunk to take pictures but had some snaped of me.
Here’s one in my army get up.
The Oakland Art Murmur takes place every month on the first Friday. It is spread out across different art galleries in Oakland with the majority of them being near Telegraph and Grand Avenue. It is a place where you can walk from gallery to gallery and enjoy fresh exhibits, art, clothing articles and other local artist created things. You can even drink in the galleries! Wine tasting is often abundant.
Oakland National Night Out 2008 Tuesday August 5th. Get together with your neighbors, stay out past dark, celebrate your neighborhood in a safe fun matter. These are your streets and you have friendly neighbors willing to hang out and show their presence. Take back your hood. Get involved, host a block party in your area! It’s easy and a great way to meet your neighbors and keep your streets safe.[ad#big-square-1]
…ahhh yes, it’s that time again. We only do this 3-4 times a year in summer so join us under the sun at our fully permitted, beautiful park location right by the water while we celebrate our underground music, good people, good times and life. Please repost this and help us promote this party that has been growing strong for 8 years, now being enjoyed in the Bay for the 3rd time…and getting bigger and more fun every time we do it.
Feel free to bring your dogs (but on leash only or you could get sited by a ranger… and pick up after them). Feel free to bring bbq stuff, food, drinks, something to sit your buns on, family & good people. Please respect everything and everyone and bring your good vibez, that’s all we ask.
Come early and enjoy the day!
See your smiling faces there,
The Hieroglyphics will be performing live at the Fillmore on Thursday September 18th at 8pm. These guys are local Oakland Hip Hop legends and not to be missed. If you like Del the Funky Homosapien then you gotta check them out because he is the lead member of the group. I have seen them live several times and would encourage you to go to this show. The Fillmore won’t be around much longer either!
The Oakland Art & Soul Festival is coming up! I go every year and am looking forward to Zion I this year. I must admit it is becoming more expensive and having less talent that interest me, but it is still a local event worth checking out. It is sponsored by mainly Comcast so maybe that’s why it is changing? Lots of music, 3 days and plenty of local vendors.
Check these guys out, they throw events monthly at the Oasis Bar and grill on 12th and Madison as well as other various events.
You can view their myspace here.
And they even have some sets you can download as well as a mailing list you can join by signing up here.
Keep up with Black Market Techno events by signing up for our mailing list. Just e-mail us with “mailing list” in subject line, blackmarkettechno@gmail.com
