My Photography
Here we go guys, a collection of a few of my pictures taken in and or around Oakland, California. Leave me some comments, let me know what you think. If you would like to inquire about usage rights please contact me. These are all copy righted and not to be used without permission.
Port of Oakland Cranes
This first one was taken by me at the Port of Oakland while on one of their Free Harbor Tours. These are the famous Port of Oakland Cranes used to unload shipping containers from massive ships.

I also took this one from the Port of Oakland at Harbor View Middle Park during a sunset looking out towards San Francisco and the Bay Bridge.

San Francisco from Oakland Same day.

San Francisco As well.

Taken from Harbor View Middle Park looking out towards San Francisco on an awesome evening for a sunset.

And one last one from this set. It was cropped to be Panoramic like. Check it out.

Oakland Tribune Tower
This is my favorite building in Oakland and you can learn more about it here.

Lake Merritt @ Sunset
Here is a great place to walk in the evenings or in the day. Lake Merritt. You have a path that is aprox 3 miles around, great views and nice place for a sunset, beer and burrito!

Lake Merritt & Tribune @ Night
This was taken from the East Side of the lake looking towards Downtown Oakland. As you can see the Tribune Tower is an icon standing out in the night sky.

Bellevue Staten Building Lake Merritt
This building is just awesome. It reminds me of something out of Gotham City.

The Ordway Building
This is the tallest building in Oakland as of now. However they do have a new project on the way. This was taken during construction of the giant cathedral that is now complete on Lakeside and Grand ave.

Lake Merritt Gondola
This can be seen from time to time out on the Lake. Who would have thought even here in Oakland?

5th Ave Train Yard off 880 North
I took this on a beer drinking journey with a friend of mine one time. We had a blast playing around the yard, drinking our beers and taking pictures.

I took this one in HDR out front. It reminds me of some sort of Industrial Jungle or something.

I took this one in HDR as well.

Port of Oakland Pictures
The following section will be pictures taken at the Port of Oakland and it’s surrounding areas and parks.
This first one is a ship in the harbor being unloaded by the cranes.

This one here is a Cosco ship. But not the one that hit the Bay Bridge.

This was taken from the Port of Oakland’s Middle Harbor Park looking out towards San Francisco.

Another one from Middle Harbor Park looking out at The City.

Also at the Ports Middle Harbor View Park looking towards the cranes.

This one was actually taken from the Oakland Hills looking down towards the port of Oakland on a gloomy day between storms.

San Francisco Bay Bridge Photos
Since that last one was a nice picture of the bay I figured I could drop a few of my Bay Bridge pictures in here.
This Bridge is awesome eh?

This one was taken from Treasure Island one drunken night around 4am or something.

Here is the Western Span from under as I was on a ferry heading to SF.

And again, this time from the Ferry Building in San Francisco.

Since we’re on the subject of Bridges and all, here is the Golden Gate Bridge at Sunset from behind. It looks like crap because I took it with an old .83mp camera long ago!

San Francisco Pictures
Ok, since we somehow traveled from the Port of Oakland across to San Francisco via pictures, we might as well take a look around! This first one is the Ferry Building Clock Tower located right there at the foot of Market Street.

And since we’re in the hood, only a half block or so away you can find this monstrous sculpture of a water fountain thingie @ The Embarcadero.

Since we’re already over here in Frisco we should take a walk down to Pier 39 and check out some stuff. You know I saw your daddy out there working the corner?

Of you go during the right time of year you can catch Fleet Week which is a pretty fun event and a great photo op!

Anyways, let’s hurry up and get back down town towards the Financial District so we can hurry up and get out of “The City”! I much prefer “The Town“. Here is my last photo of the TransAmerica Pyramid Building. It’s pretty dope.

Oakland McAfee Coliseum
So this is the place to be. Oakland A’s and Oakland Raiders both play here, Great for tailgating and watching a game.

Home of the Oakland Athletics!

Now for some random Oakland pictures just cause I’m tired of making this page….. Starting with Oakland Police Department chillen on their motorcycles at Chevron on Foothill Blvd and High st.

This is one of those pictures I call “Only in Oakland”.

Sunsets and views
Well I could bore you infinitely with pictures of the sort… but for your sake I will not! I am however going to post a few for you here.
This one was taken at the San Leandro Marina which is a great place to have an evening beer and watch the plans land at Oakland International Airport.

This one was taken with the old janky .83 Mega Pixel camera many years ago at the Alameda Naval Air Station Control Tower looking out past the runway towards San Francisco. But I really still like it. Wish I had a better camera at the time.

This was taken from my favorite drinking spot in the Oakland Hills. It is over looking the Mormon Temple and has a great view of the East Bay and San Francisco.
.jpg)
And while we’re on the Oakland Mormon Temple I have a few more that look kinda cool. This one is again from my beer spot.

And why not a close up for the hell of it.

Ok, Ok, I know you’re sick of the Mormon Temple. Me too! Come on man I was just trying to show some pictures of this giant lit up castle over the city. How about a better landmark here in the Bay Area that has brought us much more joy. Yes Pixar! Awesome movies.

And this is off topic and random, but how about the Alameda County Fair from above on the giant ferris wheel?

Maybe a yellow rose for the hell of it? Damn am I almost done? This is getting lame….

Oh wait…. back to sunsets….. How could I forget this one! Craziest Sunset I have ever seen. It was on New Years Eve of 2007.

Oh and while we’re on sunsets…… I can start to wrap things up with my most recent set of photos taken at Burning Man 2008!
Burning Man 2008
I took these while out on the Playa and must say I am happy with them. Maybe because I had the time of my life and they remind me of being back there. If you want the full story behind each picture, please visit my dedicated Burning Man 2008 Photos link and check them out. Many more pictures as well as mini stories of the madness that was involved.
